This course will focus on how society has historically, and is currently, regulating cannabis. This course takes an in-depth look at the history and current evolving approaches to cannabis regulation, including preemption; legal, professional and business ethics; and enforcement policy. Students enrolling in the seminar must prepare a research paper, make a presentation to the class, and actively participate in class discussion. Students will work with the professor to select a topic for the research paper, which can be drawn from topics covered in class or another topic of interest to the student and acceptable to the professor. This course counts towards the upper level writing requirement.
