What is your hometown and what was your previous education?
I was born in Esfahan, Iran. I have a Doctor of Medicine degree (MD) from Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences, Iran.
What is one part of the program that especially drew you to the program?
As an individual with a medical background, I have always been drawn to the emphasis on translational research in the field of pharmaceutical sciences. Translational research involves leveraging laboratory discoveries to improve clinical outcomes, such as developing new drugs or enhancing the efficacy of existing ones through a deeper understanding of their mechanism of action within the body.
At WNE, the MSPS program offers unparalleled opportunities for students to participate in research initiatives and collaborate with esteemed faculty members who possess expertise across various domains of pharmaceutical sciences. This exposure can prove invaluable in honing the requisite skills and knowledge needed to thrive in this dynamic and rewarding field.
What do you plan to do in the future when you graduate?
As an international medical graduate, my future plan involves passing the USMLE examination and obtaining a residency in the USA. I plan to achieve this by dedicating myself to a rigorous study regimen and applying to various programs. I am excited to gain hands-on experience and deepen my knowledge in my chosen specialty, and I am confident in my ability to succeed.
Furthermore, my MSPS degree, which I will earn from WNE, will play an integral role in helping me achieve my career goals. Through the program's emphasis on translational research and opportunities for hands-on experience, I will develop the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the dynamic field of pharmaceutical sciences. This will be instrumental in helping me excel in my residency program and beyond as I become an effective and compassionate physician in the USA.

What is your hometown and what was your previous education?
I am from South Hadley, Massachusetts. I am currently in a five-year accelerated dual-degree program where I am getting my Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering degree, while I work towards my MSPS degree.
What is one part of the program that drew you to the program?
One part that drew me to the program was having the ability to apply my engineering knowledge to the pharmaceutical industry. It allows me to specialize in a way that would allow me to graduate into a niche that not many people have formal education in. So it is a huge opportunity for me as an engineer to enrich my knowledge and graduate ahead of the curve with more experience and hands-on skill.
What do you plan to do in the future when you graduate?
I plan to work in the industry, particularly in the area of drug delivery with an emphasis on epigenetics and cellular engineering. I also later might go on to get a PhD in a related field.
