Due to weather conditions, Western New England University will operate on a delayed start tomorrow. 

Students

Classes scheduled before 11:00 a.m. will not meet in person. At the discretion of faculty, some morning classes may transition to remote learning; faculty will communicate directly with students regarding any adjustments.

Classes scheduled to begin at or after 11:00 a.m. will operate on a normal schedule unless otherwise communicated by the instructor.

Please use caution when traveling to campus and allow additional time for your commute. Facilities teams will continue to monitor conditions and prepare campus walkways and parking areas.

Exploring African American Experiences

18 credits
Department of English, Communication, Culture, and Arts

Students of all majors will benefit from gaining insights into the African American experience in this interdisciplinary minor that explores topics ranging from media, race, and gender to African American history. Courses include study in African American Literature; Civil War and Reconstruction; Comparative Race Relations; and Race, Gender, and Ethnicity in the Media.
