Sophia Rios, Director of University Advising
Sophia began her college career at Springfield Technical Community College, earning her Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts. She then went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Western New England College. Sophia completed a Master’s Degree in Psychology with a concentration in Student Personnel Administration in Higher Education from Springfield College in May 2012.
Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Springfield, Massachusetts, Sophia is a mother of four and is passionate about student success. Sophia has been at Western New England University working in Academic Success since 2011 and directs the Academic Progress Monitoring program. She also founded Success First at Western New England University a program to support first generation college students in achieving their academic and personal goals.
