Center For International Sport Business
Today more than ever, sport is a multi-million dollar global industry. The Center for International Sport Business (CISB) is a forum for the study of the business of sport, through an international lens. The CISB organizes conferences and seminars around the business of sport and its impact on the global economy for students, scholars, industry professionals, and other interested stakeholders. The CISB has taken students to the Olympic Games and FIFA World Cups, and will pursue other high-impact international sport experiences for students.

For the Love of the Games Distinguished Speaker Series
The “For the Love of the Games Distinguished Speaker Series” is a platform for leading personalities in the world of sport to discuss contemporary issues related to the business of sport. The CISB launched the Speaker Series in 2007 as part of its Distinguished Visitor Program, with World Anti-Doping Agency chair and International Olympic Committee member Dick Pound.
People Who Inspire
The “A Brown Bag Series: People Who Inspire” provides an engaging setting lunchtime for students to personally interact with guest speakers. Past speakers include Olympic Bronze Medalist Rodney Smith ’89/G’03, Professional Men’s Baseball Coach Justine Siegal, Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Vice President Paul Lambert, and two-time Olympian Judy Strong.
Other Events
The CISB also sponsors other events including tours of local sporting facilities such as the MassMutual Center and the University of Connecticut's Rentschler Field, as well as guest lectures.
