This year we will celebrate the achievements of our graduates at the MassMutual Center on Sunday, May 19, 2024. WNE aims to keep you informed about Commencement details, especially since we will be at a different venue this year. We look forward to welcoming our graduates and their families and to ensuring a memorable and seamless experience for all.
Please review the important information below.
Pre-ordered regalia may be picked up at the WNE Bookstore this week. Their hours are 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., Monday, May 13, through Saturday, May 18.
For questions regarding regalia or to confirm that yours is available for pick-up, please reach out to the WNE Bookstore at 413-782-1284.
Lunch will be provided for faculty and staff in between ceremonies.
If you have a child(ren) graduating at either the Undergraduate or the Graduate ceremony and would like the opportunity to hand them their diploma, please let the Registrar’s Office know by emailing Michelle Clark (michelle.clark@wne.edu).
If you are eager to see the venue, you can view Westfield State’s Commencement that took place at the MassMutual Center in May 2023. We will share more details about the venue soon.
Western New England University (WNE) will provide continuous shuttle service between WNE and MassMutual Center (MMC) on Commencement Day, Sunday, May 19 between 7:15 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
WNE Drop-off/Pick-Up: The shuttles run approximately every 30 minutes from WNE’s Welcome Center parking lot located at 1215 Wilbraham Road. Large signs will indicate drop-off/pick-up zone.
MMC: The shuttles will stop in front of MMC on the corner of Bruce Landon Way and Main Street for drop-off. The shuttles will be on the Dwight Street side of MMC for pick up and return to WNE after the ceremony.
The first shuttle will leave WNE at 7:30 a.m. The second shuttle will leave at 8:00 a.m. running throughout the day until 6:00 p.m.
The final shuttle departs MMC at approximately 6:00 p.m.
Shuttles are available for everyone including students, faculty, staff, family, and friends attending the event.
Note that traffic conditions on Commencement Day may cause delays in shuttle service.
MassMutual Center does not own or operate any local parking facilities. The Civic Center Parking Garage is currently closed and under construction on Bruce Landon Way. Parking options are available with the Springfield Parking Authority along with MGM Springfield. Visit the MassMutual Center's website for more information regarding directions and parking.
