Background

Professor Mahon Scoles teaches Lawyering Skills and is the coach of the National Moot Court team. Before joining the faculty in 2022, Professor Mahon Scoles taught legal research and writing as a visiting assistant professor at Boston College Law School and as an adjunct professor at New England Law.

Professor Mahon Scoles is a seasoned litigator with more than a decade of experience representing clients in high stakes litigation. She began her career as an associate at the Santa Monica California office of Bingham McCutchen LLP, where she litigated securities fraud, bankruptcy, and breach of contract cases arising from the 2008 financial crisis. She then clerked for the Honorable Donald L. Cabell of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. After clerking, Professor Mahon Scoles spent several years as a litigation associate at a boutique firm in Boston where she was twice named a New England Super Lawyers Rising Star. She has also worked for the Project on Predatory Student Lending at Harvard Law School’s Legal Services Center and as a staff attorney at the Massachusetts Appeals Court.
