Background

Professor Atta teaches Intro to the Legal Profession and the Judicial and Law Practice Seminar. Professor Atta is also the Externship Program Director at WNE Law. She previously taught Constitutional Law at the College of Arts and Sciences.  

Professor Atta is an experienced litigator and advocate with over a decade of trial experience. She successfully argued before the Massachusetts Appeals Court and Supreme Judicial Court. Prior to joining the faculty at WNE law, Professor Atta served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Energy and Environment Bureau of the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office where she pursued cases, both civil and criminal, on behalf of the Commonwealth for violations of Massachusetts environmental laws and regulations, including the Clean Air Act, the Safe Drinking Water Act, and the Motor Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance Act. She also served on the Energy and Environment Bureau's Racial Justice Committee. Professor Atta is an active member of the Women's Bar Association's Legislative Policy Committee, on the Board of Directors of the Hampden County Bar Association, and was appointed by the Justices of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts to serve on the Standing Advisory Committee on the Rules of Criminal Procedure.
