Background

Linda Oleksak, M.Ed., has been the Director of Reading Services and a member of the English faculty at Western New England University for the past 19 years. She has also been a Consulting Teacher of Reading for over 25 years and has worked extensively with students of all ages. Her main focus has been on adolescent and adult literacy, however, especially as it relates to the reading and writing needs of incoming college freshmen. In addition for the past nine years, she has been working with master's level middle and secondary school teachers helping them to incorporate literacy strategies into their own classrooms.
