JD/MS in Accounting
Broaden your opportunities in taxation and estate planning with dual degrees in accounting and law. The online Master of Science in Accounting will enable you to satisfy the requirements to become a CPA in Massachusetts and Connecticut, and to develop the skills in planning, controlling, evaluation, and analysis that characterize a successful career in accounting. Pursuing both degrees together will save you time and more than $11,000 in tuition. As a full-time student, you can complete both degrees in three years. Part-time students will finish in four years.
Admissions Process
Current Western New England University JD candidates can apply for admission for the JD/MS in Accounting Dual Degree Program upon completing at least one semester of full-time study or three semesters of part-time study in the JD program. Applications are processed on a rolling basis. Applicants will be evaluated based on their performance to date in the JD program, as well as their undergraduate academic record. The MS in Accounting has eight undergraduate accounting courses that are required for admission: Financial Reporting, Managerial Accounting, Financial Reporting II, Financial Reporting III, Cost Accounting, Fundamental Concepts of Tax Structure, Auditing and Assurance Services, and Principles of Finance. The LSAT will be considered in lieu of the GMAT.
Program Costs
Dual degree candidates will be billed in four installments once they register for their first graduate business course. A charge will be posted for a total of four semesters. The installments will be based on current graduate tuition rates and be adjusted annually. As a result of the cross-credits shared by both degree programs, dual degree candidates will save over $11,000 in tuition. Candidates completing graduate business courses after the four installments are paid will not be charged for any remaining graduate business courses.
Master's Course Delivery Model
