JD/MS in Sport Leadership and Coaching
The Juris Doctor/MS in Sport Leadership and Coaching dual degree program offers a unique opportunity for law students interested in working in the $435 billion-a-year sport industry for sport organizations, in collegiate sports, or as sport agents. The master’s program is taught by our expert Sport Management faculty with expertise in sport agency, facilities management, and collegiate sports, as well as international leadership expert, Dr. Robert Klein. This program combines leadership and team-building coursework with oversight, compliance, ethics, and sport analytics. Pursuing both degrees together will save you time and more than $11,000 in tuition. As a full-time student, you can complete both degrees in three years. Part-time students will finish in four years.
Admissions Process
Current Western New England University JD candidates can apply for admission for the JD/MS in Sport Leadership and Coaching Dual Degree Program upon completion of at least one semester of full-time study or three semesters of part-time study in the JD program. Applications are processed on a rolling basis. Applicants will be evaluated based on their performance to date in the JD program, as well as their undergraduate academic record. The LSAT will be considered in lieu of the GMAT.
Program Costs
Dual degree candidates will be billed in four installments once they register for their first graduate business course. A charge will be posted for a total of four semesters. The installments will be based on current graduate tuition rates and be adjusted annually. As a result of the cross-credits shared by both degree programs, dual degree candidates will save over $11,000 in tuition. Candidates completing graduate business courses after the four installments are paid, will not be charged for any remaining graduate business courses.
Master's Course Delivery Model
Courses are offered online with two short-term residencies. Registration for master’s courses is subject to prior approval of the School of Law Dean of Academic Affairs. Your advisors in both the School of Law and College of Business will help you develop your degree plan.
Accreditation
The best business schools in the world are accredited by AACSB International—The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Western New England University is the only private institution in western Massachusetts accredited by AACSB International and among fewer than 5% of business schools in the world to hold this accreditation.
