On Tuesday, May 19, 2015, the Western New England University College of Pharmacy held its 5th annual Continuing Pharmacy Education and Preceptor Development Conference. The conference is one way that the College of Pharmacy supports the educational needs of pharmacists in the region.
This year, nearly 100 pharmacists from New England participated in the full-day training program. The workshops included an Immunization Update by Dr. Courtney Doyle-Campbell, a Sepsis Guidelines Update with Dr. Yoonsun Mo (pictured above), and a Guide to a Good Night’s Sleep presented by Dr. Melissa Mattison, The participants also received an update on Regulatory Law and Pharmacist Liability issues from Paul Garbarini, RPh, Esq.
During the event, Preceptor of the Year awards were presented to the following winners: Institutional Preceptor of the Year: Sara Shermer, R.Ph., (pictured left) Connecticut Department of Veterans’ Affairs and Ambulatory Care Preceptor of the Year: Mitzie Allen, PharmD, CDR U.S. Public Health Service; Federal Medical Center Devens, MA.
