On Thursday, November 17, Justin Dion L’00, professor of Legal Skills and director of the Bar Admissions Program at the University’s School of Law, will talk about the massive Equfiax Data Breach at the Albany, NY Blue & Gold Alumni Reception. Join us to connect with area alumni and learn how to protect yourself and your credit. This complimentary event will be held at Wolferts Roost Country Club with doors opening at 5:30 p.m.
Equifax, one of three major credit scoring companies, reported in September that hackers had gained access to company data that potentially compromised sensitive information for 143 million Americans. The breach included credit card, Social Security, and driver’s license numbers—enough to steal someone’s identity, according to security experts.
Dion’s presentation will include steps to take to avoid being victimized by the breach—one of the largest in recent years. Dion is also an attorney Of Counsel at Bacon Wilson in Springfield. Initially a general practitioner, his expertise and practice developed into consumer protection and bankruptcy. He is the recipient of the School of Law’s 2017 Distinguished Law Review Alumnus Award.
Guests, who will have the opportunity to connect with fellow alumni and meet President Anthony S. Caprio, should RSVP by November 9 at attend.com/AlbanyBlueandGold, or by calling 413-796-2240 or by emailing alumwne@wne.edu.
