Happy summer to all & a huge welcome to our newest alumni members, the Class of 2018!
I am excited to introduce myself as your new Alumni Association President. My name is Alison Castellano, Class of 2003. I look forward to working on your behalf and creating opportunities for you to strengthen your connection to WNE. As a student, I was heavily involved on campus as a soccer player, class officer, peer advisor, and OGL. As an alumna, I have continued to be engaged in the University community as a volunteer, including serving on the Alumni Association Board since 2012. I also volunteer in my community, coaching youth soccer and serving on the PTO at my children’s school. I have been a Visiting Instructor of Psychology at the University for the past ten years.
The Alumni Association Board of Directors has recently undergone some changes in order to best serve our growing alumni population, and to ensure that our goals and values are closely aligned with the University. New and returning Board members have been working diligently to enhance the alumni experience, focusing in three key areas: career development, communications, and engagement.
I would love to hear from you regarding your interests or suggestions for how to help alumni stay connected to the University. Please feel free to contact me at alisoncastellano@gmail.com or complete our confidential comprehensive Alumni Survey.
We hope you’ll join us at our events and programs over the course of the upcoming year. We are excited to host our first ever Alumni Day at Six Flags New England and we hope to see you there on Saturday, August 4. Please also save the date for Golden Bear Weekend, October 19-21, featuring all your favorite Homecoming activities plus many new and exciting events.
