Kathryn Grant, P4 student at Western New England University (WNE), has been awarded a competitive Student Registration Grant to attend the upcoming meeting of the American Association of Psychiatric Pharmacists (AAPP). The AAPP's annual meeting is one of the most important events in the field of psychiatric pharmacy, bringing together leading experts and practitioners to discuss the latest developments in the field.

The Student Registration Grant is a national award that provides financial support to exceptional students who are interested in pursuing a career in psychiatric pharmacy which is one of several clinical specialties within the profession. The application process for the grant involves an application process that includes a written essay, as well as obtaining a faculty endorsement. The grant covers the cost of registration for the AAPP's annual meeting.

Kathryn is one of only 28 PharmD students to be awarded the grant this year. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to attend the AAPP's annual meeting and to learn from the experts in the field. "I am incredibly grateful to have been awarded this grant, and I am looking forward to attending the AAPP’s annual meeting," said Kathryn. "This is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the latest research and best practices in psychiatric pharmacy, and I am excited to bring this knowledge back to my studies at WNE."

Dr. Charles Caley, Professor of Pharmacy Practice at WNE, praised Kathryn for her achievement. "Kat is an outstanding student, and we are very proud of her being recognized with this prestigious grant. Her dedication to her studies and her passion for psychiatric pharmacy make her an excellent candidate for this award, and we are confident that she will make the most of this opportunity."

AAPP 2023 "Where Pharmacy & Psychiatry Meet" will be held on April 16-19, 2023 in Atlanta, GA. Kathryn will have the opportunity to attend a range of workshops, presentations, and poster sessions, and to connect with professionals in the field and PharmD students from across the country.
