The Stageless Players at Western New England University (WNE) are proud to announce their upcoming fall production, Twelve Angry Jurors. Based on the Emmy Award-winning television movie by Reginald Rose, this gripping play will be performed on Friday, November 3 and Saturday, November 4 at 7:00 p.m. with a matinee performance on Saturday, November 4, at 1:00 p.m. in Sleith Hall, Wood Auditorium.
In the jury room, the initial vote is nearly unanimous in favor of "guilty," with a single "undecided" dissenter who gradually introduces reasonable doubt. As the deliberations proceed, the jurors reveal their individual personalities and prejudices. Various members of the jury harbor discriminatory feelings towards the defendant based on his race, background, and one juror's complex relationship with his own son. The lone dissenter succeeds in persuading the other jurors to reach a unanimous "not guilty" verdict by raising doubts about the evidence presented in court and exposing their own biases. The characters remain anonymous throughout the play, identified only by number rather than name.
General admission tickets for this powerful production are available for $7 per person, while students and seniors can enjoy the show for just $5. Tickets can be purchased online at wneu.universitytickets.com or at the door for $7.00.
Don't miss this compelling and timely presentation made possible through the support of the Student Senate, the Office of Student Involvement and Connection, and the Department of Communication, Media, and the Arts at WNE.
