Western New England University Welcomes Raymond McCarthy to its Prestigious Board of Directors

Western New England University (WNE) proudly announces the addition of Mr. Raymond McCarthy, a distinguished alumnus, to its esteemed Board of Directors.

Ray McCarthy, a seasoned healthcare executive, currently serves as the steward of financial oversight at Baystate Health, a $2.4 billion integrated delivery system in western Massachusetts. With nearly 30 years of healthcare experience, McCarthy has played a pivotal role in shaping the financial landscape of Baystate, which includes four acute care hospitals, a multi-specialty practice group, a visiting nurse and hospice organization, a captive insurance company, and a managed care organization.

As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Massachusetts Health Leadership College fellow, and a proud graduate of Western New England University, McCarthy brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the University's Board of Directors. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance and his Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from WNE.

In his role at Baystate, McCarthy provides system-wide vision, strategic direction, and operational leadership in all aspects of finance, ensuring the overall financial health of the system. His accomplishments include serving as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Baystate's provider enterprise, Baystate Medical Practices, and as the CFO of Baystate's joint venture, Baycare Health Partners, overseeing value-based risk arrangements through an accountable care and physician hospital organization.
