Western New England University is proud to announce the upcoming Wellen Davison Seminar titled "Disability 101," scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 14, 2024, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. EST. The seminar will feature keynote speaker Nadine O. Vogel, CEO of Springboard Consulting, a globally recognized firm dedicated to mainstreaming people with disabilities in the workforce, workplace, and marketplace. Registration in advance is required and can be completed at bit.ly/3w1gJM9.

Nadine Vogel brings a wealth of experience to the seminar, having held various executive positions in Corporate America before founding Springboard Consulting. She is the acclaimed author of DIVE IN, Springboard into the Profitability, Productivity, and Potential of the Special Needs Workforce, a business book that has garnered widespread praise.

In addition to her roles as CEO and author, Vogel is a regular contributor to numerous professional, industry, and consumer publications. Her expertise has been highlighted in published cases at both the Harvard Kennedy School and the Harvard Business School, where she also serves as a guest lecturer. Furthermore, Vogel collaborates with the Universita Europea di Roma in Italy, where she developed executive curriculum on disability inclusion management.

Recognized as a compelling speaker, Vogel has delivered keynote presentations worldwide and contributed to various regional, national, and international business publications. She has also hosted several groundbreaking television programs, including Inclusion at Work on Bloomberg TV and The Nosh and Talk & Tea with G & Me on RVN TV, which aired on Roku and Apple TV. Additionally, Vogel is the founder and co-host of Disabled Lives Matter, a global podcast.

Vogel's personal connection to disability advocacy, as the mother of two adult daughters, one of whom lives with disabilities, adds a deeply personal dimension to her work and presentations.

The seminar is sponsored by the Senate Diversity and Inclusion Committee, the Office of the Provost, School of Law Outreach and Diversity Committee, and the Offices of the Deans of Arts & Sciences, Business, Engineering, Law, and Pharmacy.

The seminar series is named after former Mechanical Engineering Professor, Wellen Davison, who taught at the University's College of Engineering for 38 years. In celebration of his dedication, the University inaugurated the Wellen Davison Seminar in 1989. This seminar is now an annual professional development event designed to improve the teaching and learning environment for faculty, administration, and staff at the University.
