Western New England University’s Brenda Garton-Sjoberg, and her husband, John Sjoberg, were recently celebrated at the Rotary Club of West Springfield’s Service Above Self luncheon. The couple was recognized for their unwavering dedication to community service and their efforts to make a lasting impact on the lives of others.
Known for her deep commitment to education and outreach, Professor Garton-Sjoberg actively fosters literacy and supports underserved populations through her work. Her husband, John, shares her passion for service, and together they have exemplified the Rotary’s mission of promoting goodwill and improving communities.

Garton-Sjoberg is director of the Institute for Media and Non-Profit Communication. She has shared her skills and talents as a professional educator of communication at Western New England University since 2001.
