Western New England University celebrated the academic and athletic achievements of 56 student-athletes from 17 varsity sports during the annual Chi Alpha Sigma National Honor Society induction ceremony held on Thursday, May 1, in the Downes Athletic Hall of Fame Room.

Hosted by the WNE Athletics Department, the ceremony recognized student-athletes who have distinguished themselves both in the classroom and in competition. Inductees into Chi Alpha Sigma—the National College Athlete Honor Society—must be juniors or seniors with a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher and must be endorsed by their head coach for excellence in character, leadership, and sport.

This year’s class comes just shy of WNE’s largest induction group of 58 in 2024, underscoring the University's continued emphasis on academic excellence among its student-athletes.

“The Chi Alpha Sigma induction is a meaningful milestone for our student-athletes who exemplify the balance of academic integrity, athletic commitment, and personal character,” said Director of Athletics Jennifer O. Kollins. “We’re proud to honor their dedication and celebrate their achievements.”

The 2024–2025 inductees represent a wide range of academic disciplines and athletic programs. Among this year’s class are multi-sport athletes and standout leaders from across New England and beyond.
