Five-year BS in Computer Engineering/MS in Electrical Engineering

College of Engineering

As technology continues to grow and evolve in our society, having the knowledge to hone and expand those capabilities is invaluable. Computer and electrical engineers play a vital role in not only shaping the future, but keeping us powered in the present.

Take the first step to becoming a leader in this field by enrolling in the Five-year BS in Computer Engineering/MS in Electrical Engineering program at Western New England University. In your five years of study in the program, you will earn a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering in less time than it would take to earn them separately, saving you tuition. The strong educational background gained through this program will prepare you to enter the workforce as a highly qualified engineer or continue your education at the PhD level.

Admissions Requirements

Provisional acceptance is granted to incoming freshmen who score a combined 1200 on the SAT Math and Critical Reading portions and have a 3.5 high school GPA. Students must maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher each year (freshman, sophomore, and junior years) to maintain their provisional acceptance. Students who do not qualify for provisional acceptance as an incoming freshman can apply during the first semester of their junior year as long as they have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Curriculum

Graduate students in the program will need to complete a total of 153 credit hours to earn a BS in their engineering field and an MS in Electrical Engineering degree. You will take four core courses in Engineering Management or Project Management, Quality Engineering, Design of Experiments, and System Integration. You will then choose an advisor and course of study for the remainder of your education. Your choices include an all-course option; a project option, which includes advanced coursework and a final presented project; and a thesis option, that involved advanced coursework and a thesis with presentation.

Master of Science in Electrical Engineering

The MS in Electrical Engineering program will prepare you to enter the high-technology fields that power our economy. You will not only learn to become a master problem solver, but also an innovator with a vision for the future.
