Five-year Programs

If you have been pre-approved for a Five-year program, you will receive the Five-year Program Confirmation Form during the second semester* of your sophomore year. This short form will take you less than three minutes to complete and must be submitted before your master’s curriculum is added in Self-service.

If you were not pre-approved for a Five-year program, you will need to apply via Graduate Admissions by completing the Graduate Application for Admission.

*If you enrolled at WNE prior to the Fall 2026, please contact Graduate Admissions to verify your Five-year program status.

Eligible candidates are invited to opt into a Five-year pathway during the undergraduate admission process. At that time, you would have completed a Combined Degree Program Interest Form. To confirm your status, please contact Graduate Admissions.

If you meet the admissions requirements, you may change your graduate degree program. You also have the option to confirm your intended master’s program when completing the Five-year Program Confirmation Form.

Five-year candidates can enroll in a graduate course as early as their second semester junior year.

You will initially discuss your graduate course options with your academic advisor. The College of Business and College of Engineering each have dedicated Five-year program advisors within their respective Dean’s Office.

As a Five-year candidate, you can save up to 60% on tuition for your master’s degree.

Graduate credits completed while you are still enrolled in your bachelor’s program are covered by your undergraduate financial aid. If you do not exceed 18 credits in a semester, there will be no additional tuition charges for graduate credits. You can enroll in up to four graduate courses while you are enrolled in your bachelor’s.

Please note that undergraduate scholarships and grants do not carry over to your master’s degree once you finish your bachelor's degree. After completing your bachelor's degree, you will pay the per-credit rate for your graduate program.

Current Graduate Tuition Rates

Five-year candidates are eligible to receive two free graduate courses upon completion of their bachelor's degree—certain eligibility requirements and terms apply. If you plan to live on campus, you may qualify for our annual Housing Scholarship.

Graduate Financial Aid

You still have the option to enroll in your master’s program and complete it in an extended timeframe. Many students choose this option after accepting a full-time job and pursue their master’s program part-time.
