New Era Begins

Zelda-Harris-tn.pngGreetings from Western New England University School of Law! What a privilege it is to lead this 100-plus-year institution at this moment in time. While the legal academy has endured a great deal of stress over the last several years, the WNE School of Law stands firm in its commitment to educate and develop legal professionals with the tools and skills necessary to address the inequity in our society and create opportunities for change.

The mission of WNE Law is singular and unique in the fact that this law school seeks to reach out to students who are coming from historically marginalized communities that have not had direct access to legal education or the legal profession, as well as first-generation law students, and that has been a focus of this law school from its foundation.

Our students choose WNE for our dedicated expertise in teaching, experiential learning, small class sizes, and high employment rate post-graduation. The exceptional dedication of the faculty, staff, and administration ensures that our students receive the educational experience that will carry them forward onto the profession as trained advocates prepared to meet the demands of a diverse and dynamic work environment.

At the WNE School of Law, we have much to celebrate: traditions, student achievements, faculty scholarship and awards, innovative programs and events, and the incredible work of our esteemed alumni. We were recently recognized by Bloomberg Law as one of 12 institutions at the forefront of legal education with our “Teaching Legal Research Through Community Outreach” program.

The gathering of students, faculty, alumni, staff, and administration in this carefully curated community provides us all with promise for a bright future in a time of immense challenge. I look forward to welcoming you to our vibrant community at the Western New England University School of Law.

Sincerely,

Zelda B. Harris
