What is naloxone?
Naloxone (Narcan) is a life-saving medication that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose in minutes. Thanks to a Rural Opioid Technical Assistance Regional Grant, we are offering free, in-person training to the public to help individuals learn how to safely administer this critical intervention.
Why is this important?
The opioid epidemic continues to impact communities across Massachusetts and Connecticut. Opioid overdose emergencies can happen anytime, and knowing how to recognize the signs and administer naloxone can save lives.
Learning Objectives
In this training, you will learn to:
- Recognize the signs and symptoms of opioid overdose
- Understand how naloxone (Narcan) works
- Handle intense situations and administer naloxone effectively
