Western New England University held its Student Activities Expo on Thursday, September 8, in Rivers Memorial Hall, bringing together hundreds of students eager to get involved in the Western New England community.
“The Students Activities Expo is not only good for new students, but all students who are looking to get involved with others on campus,” said Andrew Roberts, assistant director of first year experience.
Freshman Zareb Malone explained, “I thoroughly enjoy chemistry and it’s my major, so signing up for the Chemistry Club and possibly the League of Legends Club. I’m hoping to meet more people in my major. The League of Legends is more of a hobby.”
The Outing Club table was busy attracting students with their plans of adventures like mountain hiking, white water rafting, conservation projects, and more. There were approximately 70 clubs represented at the Expo, and it was successful in getting students connected with each other.
“I’m looking to get involved in leadership clubs like I was in high school, such as the Student Senate, Campus Activities, Residence Advisory, and International Club,” explained Freshman Ian McAuliffe. “I want to get as involved as I can on campus, meet new people, and make lots of friends.”
