Western New England University will present its 15th annual Student Media Festival Friday, May 5 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The event will take place in Lyman and Leslie Wood Auditorium. The Media Festival is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided by the Western New England University Alumni Relations Office.
The Media Festival showcases a variety of works produced by currently enrolled part-time or full-time undergraduate students at Western New England University.
Students create and submit commercials, public service announcements, music videos, and/or television reports. New categories this year include photography, Westerner newspaper article, and WNEK radio programing.
A panel of judges, comprised of local media professionals, will select the winning student entries and the audience votes for students to receive the People’s Choice awards. The winners will be announced during the event.
The Media Festival is sponsored by Cloud 9 Marketing Group and the Department of Communication. The Department of Communication at Western New England University prepares students to meet the demand for dynamic careers in television and radio broadcasting, journalism, social media, public relations, and advertising. Graduates have been hired by such organizations such as ESPN, Sirius XM Radio, Inc., Garvey Communication Associates, and Envision Marketing Group.
