The Western New England University School of Law will host a youth-advocacy training program sponsored by the EdLaw Project, which is a partnership between the Children’s Law Center of Massachusetts, and the Children, Family and Youth Advocacy Divisions of the Committee for Public Counsel Services. The EDLaw training program will be held on Wednesday, October 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., in Room A of the Blake Law Center, 1215 Wilbraham Road, Springfield, MA.
The EdLaw Project is sharply focused on combating the tragic school-to-prison pipeline that exists for many indigent or court-involved youth, through specialized trainings for juvenile justice and child welfare attorneys, parents, and community organizations.
Armed with an expanded and more in depth mission, the EdLaw program now includes training, empowering, and supporting lawyers across the state. EdLaw has created a comprehensive program of education-rights training for delinquency and child welfare attorneys practicing in Massachusetts, and enables non-lawyer advocates to more effectively participate the legal process.
