The Western New England University Art Gallery is celebrating National Arts and Humanities Month with an exhibit of exceptional artwork created by University faculty, staff, and alumni. On Thursday, October 19, a gallery talk and opening reception were held to showcase the exhibit, and gave the staff artists an opportunity to meet each other and discuss their work.
“I especially want the students to recognize that Western New England University has many creative people among the faculty, staff, and alumni, and there is no better way to show them than to exhibit some of the staff’s artwork,” explained artist Patricia Jenks, who also serves as the director of the University Gallery.
Following the gallery talk, guests browsed the Art Gallery to observe the art and speak with the artists about their work. Christina Fairman, Patricia Jenks, and Terri Standberg were a few of the participants who had their artwork on exhibit and enjoyed the outstanding work of other staff. The exhibit will be open until Thursday, November 2.
