Recently, the Center for International Sport Business (CISB) hosted its 30th speaker in its "For the Love of the Games" series, with former senior vice president and treasurer of The Madison Square Company, Bob Lynn. Dr. Sharianne Walker, professor and chair of the Sport Management Department moderated the program, which featured a long-form interview of the guest. Lynn shared insights into his career in sport and corporate finance, telling students to "not be afraid to take risks in pursuit of a career," as he himself has done in working for Andersen Consulting, PepsiCo, Merrill Lynch, and International Paper, among other multinationals. Surmising that many in the audience were sport management majors, Lynn exhorted students to "step up to the plate" and demonstrate a knack for getting the job done, no matter the task.

Past speakers have included IOC vice president and World Anti Doping Agency chair Dick Pound, Olympic long jump champion Bob Beamon, MLB manager Bobby Valentine, NY Mets general manager Sandy Alderson, Carolina Panthers CEO Danny Morrison, NCAA vice president Dan Dutcher, and ESPN baseball analyst Buster Olney, among many high-profile and influential leaders in sport and business. The CISB is a forum for the study of the business of sport, and in addition to its speaker programs, the Center has organized student trips to three Olympic Games and three FIFA World Cups.

The popular CISB speaker programs are free and open to the public, and are sponsored by the Western New England University Alumni Association.
