Undergraduate Open House March 10

The University will host high school and college students and their parents at an open house on Sunday, March 10, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with registration taking place in the University Commons. The event is free, but advance reservation is requested by calling 413-782-1321 or visiting wne.edu/openhouse.

"This undergraduate open house is intended for all prospective students, regardless of their year in high school or college," says Vice President for Enrollment Management Bryan Gross. "It is an opportunity to come to campus to get a sense of the University's warm and engaging community, while learning about the wide variety of academic programs, our emphasis on inter-disciplinary collaboration, and our vibrant student clubs and activities."

Guests will have the chance to tour the campus and residence halls, meet current students, get a general overview of the admissions and financial aid process, and have academic questions answered by members of the faculty. The day includes an exhibit where students can gather more information on student clubs and activities, honors programs, athletic opportunities at both the NCAA and intramural levels, as well as hear from the Career Development Center regarding the varied internship and career opportunities available to Western New England University students.

A Social Work Informational Session is open to prospective students attending the open house who would like to meet with a small group of faculty, current students, and alumni of the Social Work program. Students can discover more about the program's accreditation, including the opportunity to complete four internships in four years. The Council on Social Work Education has awarded its highest marks to the Western New England University Social Work program. This accreditation qualifies students to apply for Advanced Standing in Master of Social Work (MSW) programs to earn their master's degree in one year, rather than two.
