On Sunday, April 28, Western New England University’s Class of 2020 Council will host the second annual WNE Walks. The fundraiser benefits Square One, a non-profit organization in downtown Springfield. Registration begins at 10:00 a.m. and the walk starts at 12:00 p.m. Individual registration is $10 per person, while groups of 10 or more may register for $5 per person.

Alumni are invited to join together with students, faculty, staff, and members of the local community for a family-friendly walk through campus – all for a great cause.

The event was created with the simple goal of supporting organizations that help people in the local community. This year’s beneficiary, Square One, provides a range of education and support services to children and adults, providing opportunities for families to strengthen their social, emotional, and physical health.

Junior Madison Pezze is the Student Coordinator of the Class of 2020 Council and is in charge of overseeing the event. Her responsibilities range from creating the agendas to delegating tasks to her fellow student council members. Pezze urges alumni to participate to support a great cause and see how current students are contributing to the local community.

Madison stated, “This event provides an opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and give two hours of your day to something that is bigger than yourself.” She hopes to see a great turnout with participants enjoying their time and helping raise funds for Square One’s programs.
