The Center for International Sport Business (CISB) is proud to welcome back to campus alumnus Joe Bowker '15, who was a member of the production team that recently won an Emmy for outstanding studio show at the 40th Annual Sports Emmy Awards in New York City.
The event, set for September 10 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. in Room 200 of the Center for the Sciences and Pharmacy, is part of the CISB Brown Bag Series: "People Who Inspire" program that was launched in 2011 as a daytime complement to the popular evening "For the Love of the Games" program.
Bowker, who was an active student in the Sport Management Association and served on its Executive Board, began his career as a production assistant with ESPN before moving to Boston to take a similar position with NBC Sports, helping to produce pregame, halftime, and postgame live shows for all Boston Celtics games broadcast. In 2017, Bowker moved to Atlanta when he was hired by Warner Media, the parent of TBS and TNT, where he worked on the March Madness Selection Show – the first time ever on TBS for the 2018 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship, before joining the Inside the NBA production team at TNT.
The CISB Brown Bag Series is sponsored by the Western New England University Alumni Association and is free and open to the public. For more information, contact CISB Director Curt Hamakawa at curt.hamakawa@wne.edu or 413-782-1786.
