Now more than ever, the Career Development Center is focused on helping College of Engineering students, and especially seniors, achieve career readiness in a variety of ways.
This year, the Career Development Center coordinated a career fair exclusively for engineering students, held on February 18. More than 25 employers were in attendance to speak with over 300 students about internships, graduate programs, and full-time opportunities. Students also learned about a pursuing graduate studies and applying for a Fulbright Scholarship.
To help facilitate the activities of the Career Development Center, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering Charles Roche has been named the Internship Coordinator for the College of Engineering. His role is to act as the main point of contact for students and faculty in the College of Engineering, help identify key companies to facilitate jobs with, oversee the annual College of Engineering Career Fair, and visit companies face to face to improve opportunities for students.
Dr. Roche says this new role is very much in keeping with the College of Engineering’s focus on helping students find success after graduation.
“The College of Engineering has been dedicated to preparing graduates for industry and graduate school, and we are continually expanding on that.”
