Western New England University Named Among Top 5% in the Nation in 2022 Collegiate Advertising Awards Program

Western New England University (WNE) has been recognized for excellence in communications, marketing, advertising, and promotions by the Collegiate Advertising Awards (CAA), an elite, national program that honors higher education organizations for their outstanding achievements. WNE was awarded the prestigious Gold in the Printed Student Viewbook category, placing them in the top 5% of entries received.

The 2022 CAA program attracted entries from across the United States and Canada, representing a wide range of schools and universities, from small community colleges to very large institutions. Entries were judged by a panel of industry experts, with criteria including creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality, and overall appeal. WNE's winning entry stood out among similar-sized organizations in their specific group and category.

Sarah Stephens, Art Director in the Division of Marketing and External Affairs, designed the University Viewbook. A resident of Suffield, CT, Sarah has been with the University for ten years and earned her Master's in Organizational Leadership at WNE in 2019.

Speaking about her work on the Viewbook, Sarah said, "The Viewbook is one of the first pieces a prospective student will see during their college search, so it's important that it's eye-catching and represents the school. The cover is unique, and the inside pages feature beautiful campus and classroom photos that show off what a special place WNE is. I am proud of this piece and how it inspires students to consider WNE for their next chapter."

The Collegiate Advertising Awards is pleased to recognize the outstanding creative achievements of Western New England University, which competed against some of the best advertising projects in the world. Awards were issued for entries that received top marks from judges, placing them in the top 16% of the nation for advertising excellence.

"The University Viewbook was developed by our creative team of writers, editors, designers, and photographers, many of whom are WNE alumni passionate about sharing WNE's story through unique storytelling and visual illustration. By showcasing the breadth and depth of our programs, athletics, activities, and the distinguishing features that encapsulate our community, our team is inspiring the next generation of Golden Bears to be part of our future chapters," said Mercedes Maskalik, Vice President for Marketing and External Affairs at Western New England University.
