Western New England University will host a Veteran's Day ceremony to honor and celebrate our nation's veterans. The ceremony will take place on Friday, November 10th at 12:00 noon at the gazebo behind Deliso Hall on Western New England University's campus.
The ceremony will feature University President Dr. Robert Johnson and a wreath laying to commemorate those who have served. Attendees will also include members and coaches of the University's Golden Bear Football program who annually help to organize the event.
"We are honored to host this annual ceremony to recognize the sacrifices made by so many brave men and women who have served our country," said College of Business Dean Sharianne Walker, who works closely with the University's ROTC programs. "This is an opportunity for our campus and the greater Springfield community to come together in a spirit of gratitude and respect for our veterans."
The keynote speaker for this year's Veteran’s Day ceremony will be Lieutenant Colonel (Aviation) Brian Alexander of the U.S. Army, whose most recent tour of duty was in Germany.
Western New England University has a long history of supporting veterans in higher education. The University is proud to serve nearly 300 student veterans and military-connected students on campus.
The Veteran's Day Ceremony is free and open to the public. Members of the media are welcome to attend.
