The WNE School of Law will host "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: ChatGPT, AI, & Algorithmic Bias," a Lunch and Learn presentation on Monday, January 22 at 12:00 noon in Room C of the Blake Law Center.
Facilitated by Nicole Belbin, Associate Dean for Library and Information Resources, and moderated by Dr. Bridgette Baldwin, Professor of Law, this insightful session aims to explore the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) issues in educational settings and access to justice efforts.
The event is designed for individuals who may have reservations about engaging with AI technology, providing a platform to discuss concerns, delve into the nuances of AI development, and understand its implications for DEI initiatives.
"From tech heads advocating for a pause in its development to companies promising increased productivity, we are inundated in the news with AI content," says Belbin. "As with any new technology, AI is neither all good nor all bad. It's crucial to navigate through the hype and understand the true impact of AI on societal issues."
Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch and enthusiasm as they participate in a constructive dialogue surrounding this critical DEI issue. The Lunch and Learn event is sponsored by the School of Law Outreach and Diversity Committee and the School of Law Library.
