The NextGen Enterprise Academy at Western New England University (WNE) has partnered with the Massachusetts Bankers Association to launch a new executive education program designed to help banking professionals navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence.

The “AI Bootcamp for Bank Leaders,” a two-day virtual program scheduled for April 7 and April 14, 2026, will provide senior banking professionals and emerging leaders with hands-on training in generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) and its practical applications in the financial services industry.

Developed jointly by faculty from Western New England University and industry experts, the bootcamp aims to equip participants with the knowledge and tools needed to responsibly adopt AI technologies across banking operations, customer engagement, and compliance practices.

“Artificial intelligence is reshaping how organizations operate, make decisions, and serve customers,” said Charles Mutigwe, associate professor of Business Analytics, program director of WNE FinTech, and director of the NextGen Enterprise Academy. “This partnership with the Massachusetts Bankers Association allows us to provide bank leaders with practical, responsible AI training that moves beyond theory and helps them develop actionable strategies for implementation within their institutions.”

Participants will explore the history and evolution of AI, regulatory and ethical guardrails for compliant banking practices, and enterprise-wide adoption strategies. The program emphasizes applied learning, enabling attendees to develop a bank-specific generative AI use case and a customized 90-day AI adoption plan by the program’s conclusion.

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Western New England University Executive Education Certificate.

The bootcamp is designed for senior managers, emerging leaders, and banking professionals seeking to understand AI-driven change management and identify practical opportunities for innovation within their organizations.

Program details and registration information are available through the Massachusetts Bankers Association website.
