WNE has appointed Michael R. Richichi as Chief Information Officer (CIO), effective February 3, 2025. A seasoned IT executive with extensive expertise in digital transformation, cybersecurity, enterprise technology strategy, and higher education IT governance, Richichi will lead WNE’s technology vision, driving innovation and operational excellence across the University’s digital ecosystem.
Richichi most recently served as Assistant Vice President/Deputy CIO of Information Services at Baruch College, where he spearheaded campus-wide technology modernization initiatives, enhanced cybersecurity resilience, and co-chaired the transition to a new learning management system.
With more than 20 years of experience in senior and executive IT leadership roles, he has successfully led large-scale infrastructure projects, strategic technology planning, and the implementation of forward-thinking digital solutions that enhance institutional efficiency and student success.
A nationally recognized leader in higher education IT, Richichi was named one of EdTech Magazine’s “30 Higher Ed IT Influencers to Follow in 2024.” He is an active member of EDUCAUSE, contributing to industry discussions on emerging technology trends, IT governance, and the evolving digital landscape in academia. His insights have been featured in Inside Higher Ed, The Chronicle of Higher Education, and leading industry forums.
