WNE Welcomes Sarah Morgan, L'17 as New Chief Human Resources Officer

Western New England University announces Sarah Morgan, Esq., L’17, returns to campus as Chief Human Resources Officer, effective April 6, 2026.

An alumna of the Western New England University School of Law, Sarah brings a distinctive blend of human resources leadership, legal expertise, and a strong commitment to mission-driven organizations. In this role, she will lead the University’s Human Resources team and oversee strategies focused on employee experience, workforce culture and development, and organizational effectiveness.

Reflecting on her return to Western New England, Sarah shared: “Western New England University holds a special place in my heart. At such a pivotal moment for higher education, I’m honored to return to a community that shaped my professional journey. I look forward to partnering with faculty, staff, and leadership to strengthen our workplace culture and support the people who make the University’s mission possible.”

Most recently, Sarah served as Vice President of Human Resources at Health New England (HNE), where she led the organization’s human capital and organizational development functions. She partnered closely with executive leadership to align culture, talent strategy, and workforce development with organizational goals. Sarah initially joined HNE as Assistant General Counsel in 2019 before transitioning into HR leadership.

Earlier in her career, Sarah practiced as a litigation associate at Bulkley Richardson in Springfield and served two terms as a judicial law clerk at the Massachusetts Appeals Court under Justice Ariane D. Vuono and Justice William J. Meade, L’89.

During her time at the Western New England School of Law, Sarah served as Editor-in-Chief of Volume 39 of the Western New England Law Review. She also participated in the Human Rights Clinic and completed internships with the American Civil Liberties Union of Connecticut, the Orleans Public Defenders Office in New Orleans, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts with Judge Mark G. Mastroianni, L’89.

Sarah earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Justice and Community Development from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and holds a graduate certificate in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Leadership from Tufts University. She currently serves on the Board of the Public Health Institute of Western Massachusetts.

She lives in Greenfield, Massachusetts, with her husband, Kevin, their two children, and a lively assortment of farm animals.
