Transforming Health and Well-Being
The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences offers the four-year (11-semester) Extended Doctor of Occupational Therapy pathway (OTDx). The OTDx follows the same curriculum as our full-time distance and in-person pathways, but at a slower pace that allows you to pursue a career in occupational therapy wherever you are and with more flexibility to meet life’s demands.
The WNE Doctor of Occupational Therapy OTDx is a 109-credit curriculum that is offered in both a traditional on-campus format and a hybrid online distance format via our Distance Learning Cohort (DLC) format. Both formats offer a decreased credit load between five and 13 credits per semester as opposed to the full-time program which requires nine to 18 credits per semester. Our low student to faculty ratio ensures that faculty know you as a person and that you receive individualized attention. Five Level I Fieldwork experiences which includes the BEAR PAW Center, our student-run pro bono clinic, provide a framework for students to integrate classroom skills in a supervised environment early in the program to then practice the skills in a more independent manner during the Level II Fieldwork and the Doctoral Capstone project as they evolve into independent practitioners.
This is an extended, four-year (11-semester) program; the College also offers three-year on-campus and hybrid online distance programs that are high-quality options for students who seek to pursue an OTD degree at a faster pace.
The OTD Distance programs are not available to international applicants.
