National Science Foundation (NSF) Scholarship

Rewarding Engineering Success

Western New England University has been selected to receive a prestigious National Science Foundation (NSF) S-STEM Track II grant—creating new opportunities for talented engineering students with financial need.

Through this program, students can earn up to $15,000 per year in scholarship support, helping reduce financial stress while they focus on building skills, gaining experience, and preparing for a successful engineering career between 2026–2032.

This isn’t just financial aid—it’s a complete support system to help you succeed academically, professionally, and personally.

Student Benefits

Recipients of the scholarship will have access to a wide range of academic and professional development opportunities, including:

  • Participation in course-based research and entrepreneurial skill development programs
  • An all-expenses-paid summer bridge program, including a stipend
  • Fully funded travel to professional conferences during junior and senior years
  • Paid opportunities to mentor and support local middle and high school students
  • Customized support services through the Career Center and Counseling Services
  • Access to learning communities and guest speakers focused on professional skill development

This is a renewable annual scholarship available for the duration of a student’s full-time undergraduate program. It is awarded in addition to existing merit- and need-based financial aid.

Student Responsibilities

Scholarship recipients are expected to:

  • Participate in a mandatory pre-enrollment Zoom interview with faculty
  • Maintain full-time enrollment and satisfactory academic progress (SAP)
  • Submit the FAFSA annually
  • Actively participate in all required program activities
  • Uphold standards outlined in the Student Handbook, including civility and respect
  • Assist with recruitment efforts for future scholarship cohorts

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be a first-year or transfer student enrolling in the fall
  • Be admitted to a major within the College of Engineering
  • Demonstrate strong academic performance
  • Submit the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
  • Demonstrate financial need
