Returning Student Financial Aid Timeline and Checklist
March 1:
- The priority deadline for continuing student applications is March 1.
Please use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool when completing your FAFSA. If unable to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool, see the IRS Data Retrieval and Tax Return Transcripts link for instructions.
June-july:
- Financial Aid Offer Letters available via Financial Aid Self-Service .
- First Semester bills will be available via Student Finance Self-Service.
- Fall Semester 5 month payment plans will be available for enrollment via Official Payments. Spring Semester 5 month payment plans are available in December.
- Make sure that your Western New England email account is activated.
- Visit links in our Enrollment Services website to review Tuition and Fees, Payment Plans, and Alternative Financing.
July-August:

Fill out the health insurance waiver through the Center for Health and Wellness in order to have the mandatory insurance charge removed from your bill.

If you were awarded federal work-study visit the Human Resources website for job postings and plan to attend the on-campus job fair in early September.

File FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Use Western New England University school code: 002226. Please make sure to use the IRS Data Retrieval process when completing the FAFSA. If unable to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool, see the IRS Data Retrieval and Tax Return Transcript link for instructions.
december-april:
- Financial Aid Offer Letters mailed to students.
- Visit links to review Tuition and Fees, Payment Plans, and Alternative Financing
April-May:
- Make sure that your Western New England email account is activated
May-June:

Make sure that any non-federal loans and external scholarships are in place. Visit our Enrollment Services site to find information regarding Payment Plans and Alternative Financing
- If a parent chooses to use the federal Parent PLUS loan for additional financing, visit www.studentaid.gov to complete the application and simultaneously sign the promissory note
- Complete your Federal Direct Loan Promissory Note at www.studentaid.gov
- Complete your Federal Direct Loan Entrance Counseling at www.studentaid.gov
June-July:
