Due to the expected winter storm, the University will close campus beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. The campus will remain closed through Monday, and we expect to resume normal operations on Tuesday morning. If conditions change, we will share updates promptly.
Campus Services During the Closure
While most in-person activities will pause, essential services will remain available. Public Safety and Facilities will be on campus throughout the storm, and the following services are expected to remain open or staffed:
Students living on campus should expect regular support from Residence Life and Public Safety.
Classes and Work During the Closure
Students
Scheduled face-to-face classes will not take place on campus. At the discretion of faculty, some in-person classes may be held remotely. Faculty will communicate directly, so please check your email and course site for updates.
Classes that are already scheduled to be fully remote will continue as usual unless otherwise communicated by your instructor.
Staff
Staff who are able to work remotely should coordinate with their supervisors as appropriate.

Microsoft Outlook is the email software installed on your office computer by Office of Information Technology staff, who will also configure it to connect to Microsoft Exchange Online. In addition to handling email, Outlook also includes a calendar, task manager, contact manager, and notes. Outlook is generally used only by employees with an office on campus. Outlook is widely used by businesses and higher education, and so you'll find lots of helpful information on the web.
OWA stands for Outlook Web App, and it is how email, calendar, and contacts are managed through a web browser. Log in at https://outlook.office.com with your Western New England University UserID@wne.edu and password combination.
To mark a message as Junk, a Phishing scam, or to block a sender, right-click on the message, and you should see the following:
Under "Security Options," select the appropriate action: Mark as Junk, Block Sender, or Report Phishing.
If you use a mobile device (iPhones, iPads, Android devices) to access your email, you must use the Outlook App to access WNE email and calendars. You may use the Outlook App for Apple or the Outlook App for Android.
You can then add an account to the Outlook App, using your email address and password.
