The School of Law will host a program highlighting women in public service Friday, March 9 at 4:30 p.m. in the Blake Law Center's J. Gerard Pellegrini Moot Court Room. The event is designed to recognize women in elected office for their dedication to the community as part of the celebration of Women’s History Month. The event is free and open to the public.

The program will honor Massachusetts Lt. Governor Karyn Polito, Massachusetts Commissioner on the Status of Women and Springfield School Committee member Denise Hurst, and Springfield City Councilor Kateri Walsh. Springfield Women’s Commissioner Kathy Tobin will serve as master of ceremonies. A reception will follow the program.

The event is hosted by the School of Law’s Institute for Legislative and Governmental Affairs, and co-sponsored by the Springfield Women’s Commission and the League of Women Voters/Springfield.
