Western New England University's Doctor of Pharmacy Class of 2019, has been recognized by NAPLEX (The North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination) for achieving an impressively high first-time pass rate of 91.4%, the highest in the state of MA, and the second highest in the New England region. WNE students also achieved the highest in-state first-time pass rate for the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (MPJE) law exam.
The NAPLEX and MPJE are developed by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy for use by the state boards of pharmacy as part of their criteria for assessing candidates’ competence to practice pharmacy.
"These outcomes demonstrates that the College is offering a top quality pharmacy program," said Dr. James Knittel, Professor and Interim Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. "I am very pleased that the efforts of our students and our outstanding faculty have resulted in excellent exam pass rates for the second consecutive year."
Utilizing a cross-disciplinary approach to teaching ensures an education in the theoretical and practical aspects of the discipline, while also promoting the development of leadership, professionalism, advocacy, and a commitment to community service.
