The College of Business at Western New England University held its first Women in Business Luncheon in March, in order to spotlight challenges for women in business as well as to provide an opportunity for faculty and students to network with one another and with the participating panel of experienced women business speakers.
Trustee Janet Johnson Bullard '69 was the guest of honor, and both President Anthony S. Caprio and Provost Linda Jones were on hand to support the event.
The panel of speakers included Sabrina Serra '17, Wayfair; Rickie Rizos '17, Mikel Coffee; Katherine Putnam, Meristem Partners; Ann Burke, Western Mass Economic Development Council; and Alexandria Dean '18, NV Concepts.
In connection with empowering women in business, the University is offering a $5,000 scholarship to all incoming first year female business students this fall, which is renewable for all years of undergraduate study. This is in addition to any merit scholarships earned. For more information, visit the Women in Business Scholarship page.
