Western New England University’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Unveils Innovative Online OTD Distance Pathway

In response to the evolving landscape of occupational therapy, Western New England University's College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences proudly announces the introduction of a groundbreaking online Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) Distance Pathway. The university is now accepting applications for the inaugural cohort set to begin in the fall of 2024.

As occupational therapy delivery models undergo transformative changes, the OTD Distance Pathway emerges as a forward-thinking response, positioning students to be at the forefront of the profession. The hybrid Distance Learning Cohort (DLC) provides a high-quality online alternative to the traditional campus-based Doctor of Occupational Therapy program, empowering students to pursue a fulfilling career in occupational therapy from anywhere, with enhanced flexibility to accommodate life's demands.

The program combines both synchronous and asynchronous coursework, offering students the flexibility to tailor their learning to their own schedule while fostering a strong connection with the program and their cohort. To complement the online experience, on-campus immersive sessions are strategically integrated into the curriculum, providing students with valuable practical learning opportunities and networking experiences. These sessions occur up to two times per semester, spanning up to five days each during the classroom learning phase.

Designed for the self-motivated student, the Distance Learning Cohort mirrors the curriculum of the campus-based program without extending the time to degree completion. The university is currently accepting applications, with anticipated admissions decisions to be communicated by early April 2024.
