Freshmen/Transfer Students
December-April:
- File FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Use Western New England University school code: 002226.
- Financial Aid Offer Letters mailed to new and transfer students.
- Review Tuition and Fees, Payment Plans, and Alternative Financing
April-May:
- Make sure that your Western New England email account is activated
May-June:
- Make sure that any non-federal loans and external scholarships are in place. Visit our Enrollment Services site to find information regarding Payment Plans and Alternative Financing
- If a parent chooses to use the federal Parent PLUS loan for additional financing, visit Federal Student Aid to complete the application and simultaneously sign the promissory note
- Complete your Federal Direct Loan Promissory Note
- Complete your Federal Direct Loan Entrance Counseling
- Satisfactory Academic progress measured for returning students award letters posted to Self Service for the upcoming year.
June-July:
- Bills available upon registration via Student Finance Self-Service
- Fall 5 month Payment Plans will be available for enrollment via Official Payments
- Fill out the health insurance waiver through the Center for Health and Well-Being in order to remove mandatory health insurance charges from the bills
August:
- If you were awarded federal work-study money and need a job, attend the on-campus job fair, or visit Human Resources.
