Begin Your Path to a PharmD at WNE
Western New England University offers a flexible Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program designed to meet the needs of a wide variety of students. Whether you’re applying directly from high school, already enrolled at WNE, completing prerequisite courses elsewhere, working as a pharmacy technician, or transferring from another PharmD program, we have a pathway for you.
We offer three engaging programs designed to meet your schedule and needs:
- Four-year on campus PharmD program
- *Four-year PharmD Distance program (DLP)
- *Six-year PharmD Distance Extended program (DLPx)
*These programs are not available to international students.
Regardless of the pharmacy pathway you choose, as a graduate of our program, you will be a highly prepared pharmacy practitioner ready to provide care to an increasingly diverse patient population in an assortment of environments. To apply, select the option below that best fits your situation.
Pathways
High School Applicants
Apply to our 0-6 Pharmacy undergraduate program and earn a Bachelor of Pharmacy Studies degree in addition to the PharmD degree in 6 years.
Current WNE Students
- Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Pharmacy Studies (0-6 Pharmacy) program are guaranteed a spot in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program after successfully completing progression requirements. An application to PharmCAS must be submitted during sophomore year.
- Students enrolled in other majors are also eligible to apply for the Doctor of Pharmacy Program as they complete prerequisite coursework.
Apply as a Current WNE Student
Applicants from Other Colleges
Students who have completed, or are working to complete, their prerequisite coursework at another institution (including those schools with articulation agreements with the COPHS) are eligible to apply.
Apply as an Applicant from Another College
Pharmacy Technicians
Applicants who are working as pharmacy technicians are eligible to apply. WNE can assist with:
- An individualized review of any previously completed coursework, along with a customized “next steps” plan to help outline outstanding requirements.
- Priority interview consideration for applicants who apply by our priority deadline, with interviews scheduled ahead of the general applicant pool.
- Guidance in exploring and utilizing employer tuition assistance programs to help offset the cost of pharmacy school.
Apply as a Pharmacy Technician
Transfer Applicants
Individuals who have been enrolled in a Doctor of Pharmacy program at a different institution for one or more years and are considering a transfer into the WNE Doctor of Pharmacy program are eligible to apply.
International Pharmacy Graduates
Foreign graduates who have earned a Pharmacy degree (Baccalaureate, PharmD, or equivalent) and desire to advance their careers by earning a PharmD degree in the United States are eligible to apply. Students must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents to be eligible for the online PharmD Distance pathway.
Apply as an International Student
MSPGX To PharmD Pathway
College graduates interested in earning both a master’s degree and a PharmD degree can complete both degrees within a 5-year period without having to complete additional Pharmacy prerequisite coursework. Students in this program are not eligible for the online PharmD Distance pathway.
